KNIGHTHOOD CAPITAL PARTNERS AND TRANSPORT MALTA SIGN NEW AGREEMENT TO COLLABORATE IN AIRCRAFT LEASING PROJECT FOR MALTA

24 December 2018

Knighthood Capital has been appointed to support Transport Malta in the next phases of the project to establish a global hub for the aircraft leasing industry in Malta. Earlier this year, together with UK-based Oxford Economics and PWC, Knighthood Capital led a feasibility and benchmarking study for the government to determine the country’s potential as a competitive hub for global aircraft leasing and financing.

Based on this study, which provided an in-depth overview of Malta’s legal, commercial and tax environment, Knighthood Capital has been commissioned to provide additional planning and research services for Transport Malta to support the establishment of the aircraft leasing industry in Malta. James Hogan, Chairman of Knighthood Capital, said:

“The Knighthood team brings years of experience and expertise in the aviation and aircraft leasing and financing industries and we look forward to supporting Transport Malta in this exciting venture.

With its business-friendly environment, and the benefits of strong EU financial and legal infrastructure, we believe that Malta can develop a competitive aircraft leasing and financing business to serve the growing demand for leasing in the global airline industry.

The fact that Transport Malta is already actively implementing the recommendations from the previous study, provides great confidence that this will be a successful enterprise.”
